First off — congratulations! You’ll receive a $20,000 check (you’ll have to fill out some paperwork, but nothing out of the ordinary, not signing over anything to us) and you will also receive the inaugural JAMBALOO Music Prize. But that’s not where the story ends. We want to celebrate you, share your work, and use this moment to shine a light on the incredible music coming out of our region.
1. A Little Bit of Spotlight
Next week, we’ll announce your win with a press release and media outreach both locally and nationally. We’d love for you (or a band member) to be reasonably accessible for a few interviews over the next week or two — nothing too intense, just helping us get the word out and share your story. We’d also like to schedule a 1-hour meeting before the campaign launches (at your earliest opportunity) to sharpen the media pitch and ensure your voice and art are represented appropriately.
2. Say Cheese!
We’ll share photos of you and your band from the night of the award, plus any additional ones you’d suggest/share. If you’re up for it, we’d like to set up a few quick promo shots with our photographer, at our expense of course — casual, fun, and very low pressure — and shared with you/your team as well.
3. Your Music in Josey Records
We’ll want to coordinate with you and the Josey team to make sure they have records in stock ready to sell. Josey and JAMBALOO will highlight and share the placement as a part of follow-up support. Minimum one full month of prime, “as you walk in” display space.
4. Luminous Sound Studio Time with 4X Grammy-Winner Tre Nagella
This is a fun one. As soon as you’re ready we’ll want to get you in the studio with Tre at Luminous Sounds to record a song. We want no rights from the song at all — completely yours. We’ll help promote the release including a PR campaign and support from our year-round partners as much as possible. An initial consultation and studio tour will be followed by up a day in studio to get it right — with Tre there to help.
6. Your Music, Shared
With your permission, we’ll feature select songs and images from your winning album on JAMBALOO’s website, social media, and promotional materials (including in the next year’s campaign). Of course, you’ll always be credited, and we’ll never alter or repurpose your work in a way that misrepresents you.
7. A Quick (Promise!) November-ish Interview
In November 2026, we’d like to film a short interview with you — preferably in person, but Zoom works too if schedules don’t line up. This will help us create content that builds excitement for next year’s prize while also highlighting and promoting you. It will also allow us to share a short update on what you’ve got going on. We’ll keep it short, sweet, and easy.
8. Your Music Promoted
We’ll feature select songs and images from your winning album on JAMBALOO’s website, social media, and promotional materials (including next year’s campaign). Of course, you’ll always be credited, and we’ll never alter or repurpose your work in a way that misrepresents you. We’ll coordinate with KXT 91.7, Do214 and Prekindle to promote your award-winning album.
9. Flexibility, Always
We know that life, recording, work and tour schedules can get busy — especially if you’re blowing up (we hope you are). We’ll work with you. Think of it as a celebration we’re throwing for you, not at you.
