OUR PICKS FOR THIS WEEK

Wednesday, July 15
Kurt Vile & The Violators with Being Dead
Longhorn Ballroom | Dallas
Kurt Vile & The Violators return to Dallas in support of his tenth album, Philadelphia’s Been Good to Me. The former The War on Drugs guitarist has spent the past decade crafting some of indie rock’s most effortlessly captivating songs, including favorites like “Pretty Pimpin” and “Loading Zones.”
Opening the night is Being Dead, Austin’s wonderfully offbeat trio whose mix of garage rock, surf-pop and art-punk has made them one of Texas’ most exciting young bands. Get there early. Being Dead is well worth your time.

Saturday, July 18
Cayuga All Stars, P-Town Skanks & Kung-Fu Soundsystem
Double Wide | Dallas
If you’re after pure summer energy, this is probably the pick of the weekend. Cayuga All Stars headline a bill stacked with local favorites, joined by P-Town Skanks and Kung-Fu Soundsystem for what should become another classic Double Wide Saturday night. Good music, good people and, yes, the frozen Yoo-hoos are absolutely part of the experience.
