When Goldie released Timeless in 1995, jungle was already producing some of the most extraordinary music coming out of Britain. What he did was demonstrate how much further it could go.
The album took the rapid-fire breakbeats, enormous bass frequencies and technical ingenuity of the underground and expanded them into something orchestral, atmospheric and deeply emotional. “Inner City Life,” with Diane Charlemagne’s remarkable vocal performance, became its defining recording, but the ambition stretched across an album that fundamentally changed perceptions of what electronic dance music could achieve.
Goldie was never simply a producer with an influential record. Through Metalheadz, the label he co-founded, he helped create one of drum and bass’s essential institutions, releasing music that consistently pushed the genre beyond its established boundaries. Its influence continues through generations of producers who have inherited both the technical language and the experimental attitude of those early recordings.
Thirty years later, Goldie is still making new music.
His Rufige Kru project returned in 2025 with Alpha Omega, created alongside producer Submotive, followed by the Metal Giants EP in February 2026. The recent single “Jungle Daze,” featuring vocalist Natalie Williams, continues his exploration of the relationship between intricate rhythmic programming and expansive musical arrangements.
There is something encouraging about an artist with such an established legacy remaining this interested in what comes next. Goldie has never appeared particularly comfortable treating drum and bass as a completed historical movement. The music continues to evolve, and he remains an active participant.
His appearance at Ductwork at SILO offers Dallas an opportunity to hear that history from somebody who helped shape it. The intimacy of the room should suit the physical detail of the music, allowing the intricate breaks and enormous low frequencies to operate at close quarters.
With Diverge and DJ Titan completing the lineup, this is a night that reaches back to the foundations of jungle while remaining firmly connected to its present.
