Queens of the Stone Age have announced their ninth studio album, Perfecth, arriving October 30 via Matador Records. Produced by Joshua Homme and Michael Shuman, the nine-song record was tracked between New Orleans and Los Angeles and finds the band circling different forms of love, loss and repair.
Alongside the announcement, Queens have shared new single “Insignificant Other,” recorded in just the second take with the band deliberately leaving space for the performance to stay loose. “It’s a song about distance,” Homme says. “About how someone can be your entire world only to simply vanish.”
Perfecth follows 2023’s In Times New Roman… and also includes the previously released “Easy Street” featuring Nikki Lane. Homme says the album title comes from breaking apart the idea of perfection itself: “Nothing in this world is perfect, but everything seems to be ‘perfecth.’”
Queens of the Stone Age return to the road in September for a run of North American stadium dates with Foo Fighters before heading to Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand later this year.
