Revenge Wife, the solo project of HOLYCHILD frontwoman Liz Nistico, will release her debut album, Alien Witch, on September 30.
Written entirely by Nistico, the 12-track record is structured around the zodiac, with each song representing a different sign while tracing a broader arc through endings, change and new beginnings. Alien Witch also marks Nistico’s first time producing a full album, with all but one track produced by her.
Inspired in part by the Cardigans and the Voidz, the record moves through off-kilter pop, rock and electronic textures while turning Nistico’s attention inward. Where HOLYCHILD often examined fame, beauty, youth and money, Alien Witch focuses more closely on relationships, technology, self-understanding and the work of rebuilding a connection with yourself.
The album follows a period of major change for Nistico, including stepping away from a phone addiction, teaching meditation and songwriting to fourth-graders in the Bronx and reconsidering her relationship with creativity after a dinner in Paris with therapist Esther Perel.
Revenge Wife has already shared “What If It Is Me?!” and “In The Flowers” ahead of the album’s September 30 release.
